This week, we continue to elaborate on our favourite tips and provide you with some easy and creative ways to market your business. One of our favourites from the list is giving back. It may not seem obvious but corporate responsibility is a great way to do good, while promoting your business at the same time.
Whether you donate your money or your time, giving back can be beneficial for everyone involved. We think that the old saying that, “it is better to give than to receive” might be true after all.
Here at Suite 203 Communications we think that your company can be strategic about your alliances by helping causes whose missions align with your brand identity. Contributions can be in the form of allocating funds, product or time. Make it a point to seek out opportunities that will get your company in front of your target audience in order to generate goodwill with customers and prospects. Try finding a local group that you are aligned with, in both mission and size, and use volunteering to serve as a community contribution and team-building activity. By asking for participation and ideas from employees, they will feel empowered. Working on a project as a team is a great team-building exercise that increases morale and trust and, in turn, productivity.
Another great way to give back to your community is to partner with a charitable organization. Join efforts with a non-profit in your community and form a long-term partnership. Lead efforts in your community on their behalf. Make sure a few members of your team are on the non-profit’s advisory board and volunteer your time (and creativity), not just your money or product.
A super easy and effective way to give back is by supporting the local economy. Shop locally for whatever services and products it takes to make your company run. From paper supplies to catered meals, shopping locally stimulates small companies and keeps them running which is beneficial to your own business’ growth.
Whichever way you choose to give back to your community, you will be implementing an important and simple way to market your business and create positive buzz.
